Is Your GM or Chevy Truck Subject to a Recall?

Recalls are issued for both safety issues and emissions issues. As such, a recall notice may herald a safety issue for your vehicle. When vehicle manufacturers such as Chevrolet or GM discover that there is an ongoing problem or defect with a vehicle part, they necessarily issue a recall and notice the owners of those vehicles. You should receive a notice if your is subject to a recall. Recalls may be for a myriad of defects or issues related to the entire operation of your vehicle. You should complete any outstanding recall repairs to ensure safe operation of your vehicle. However, in certain cases, even though recalls have been issued, the recall remedies are not immediately available. If your vehicle has a defect that cannot be fixed, it could mean that your vehicle is alemon.

To check your vehicle’s recall status, go to the Manufacturer’s website, or the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) website at nhtsa.gov. You will need the VIN for your vehicle, which is available on your registration documents, your sales contract or inside your driver’s side door.

Recently Chevrolet/GMC issued a recall for nearly 450,000 trucks.

GM TRUCK RECALL

  • According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the brake control module may fail to display a warning when brake fluid is low.
  • The applies to some 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks and 2023 and 2024 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV models.

General Motors issued a recall that spans 449,671 trucks and SUVs with a potentially faulty brake fluid warning light. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall includes some 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks, and 2023 and 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV models.
